For the 2018 edition in Bologna there was the selection for the Illustrators Exhibition of Bologna Children’s Book Fair 2018. The jurors – Anastasia Arkhipova (Russia), Peggy Espinosa (Mexico), William Grill (UK), Allyn Johnston (USA),Bernd Mölck-Tassel (Germany) – examined more than 15,000 artworks sent by over 3,000 illustrators and selected a total of 77 illustrators. Among them are two Chinese artists: ZHANG Ao and ZUO Zouchao. Congratulations to them!
These finalists’ works will be put on display at the fairground from March 26th to 29th, published in the 2018 Bologna Illustrators Annual. Moreover, they will be exhibited around the world after closing of the fair.
As China becomes the Guest of Honor of this year’s Bologna Children’s Book Fair, the Fair will definitely be the meeting point for Chinese illustrators, authors and other professionals to share experiences and show their talent to the whole world.
Another hot topic in Chinese children’s publishing sector these days is the strategic collaboration between the China Shanghai International Children’s Book Fair (CCBF) and the Bologna Children’s Book Fair. The Shanghai Press & Publication Administration, China Educational Publications Import & Export Corporation Limited and China Universal Press & Publication Co. Ltd have signed an agreement with BolognaFiere S.p.A to co-organise CCBF beginning with the 2018 edition. Through this partnership, all sides aim to provide a boost to the publishing trade with the US and Chinese markets.
The Shanghai International Children’s Book Fair 2018 will take place from Friday 9 November to Sunday 11 November 2018 at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Centre.
